Competent and knowledgeable, but communication could be improved

I engaged Edward Hennebry at Sladen Legal to assist with the sale of my small business in Atlanta. His recognized expertise in commercial law was evident from the start; he was thorough in reviewing the asset purchase agreement and identified several clauses that needed adjustment to better protect my interests. His background in tax law also proved valuable when we discussed the structure of the deal. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the legal work itself was solid, I often found the communication to be lacking. There were periods of several days where I received no updates, and I had to follow up multiple times to get responses to time-sensitive questions. The wait times for returned calls or emails were sometimes longer than I would have liked, which added unnecessary stress to an already complex process. Mr. Hennebry is clearly a capable attorney who knows his field, as his professional recognition suggests, and he was professional in our meetings. But for a client navigating a significant life event, the overall experience felt more transactional than supportive. He got the job done correctly, but the client management aspect was just adequate.
