Competent and recognized, but communication could be improved

I engaged Linda Ricci at Greenberg Traurig for a complex contractual dispute that had escalated with a former business partner. Her background from Yale and her recognition in commercial litigation were significant factors in my decision. During the engagement, her legal analysis was sharp and her strategic advice during settlement negotiations was undoubtedly valuable, leading to a resolution that protected my interests. She clearly knows the law and the Boston legal landscape. However, for a client, the experience felt somewhat transactional. There were periods where responses to emails took several days, and updates on case progress often felt like they had to be prompted by me rather than being proactively provided. While I never doubted her expertise or the quality of the firm's work, the client management aspect felt just adequate. For straightforward matters where hands-on communication is less critical, she would be an excellent choice. For someone who values frequent touchpoints and detailed explanations of each step, you might find the experience, while professionally competent, a bit distant. Her accolades in white-collar defense also suggest she handles high-stakes pressure well, which was evident in her composure.
