Competent and experienced, but communication could improve

I engaged Michael Gottschlich at Barnes & Thornburg for a contract dispute with a former business partner. His deep experience in commercial litigation, backed by over three decades of practice and his recognition by Best Lawyers, was evident in his strategic approach to our case. He clearly understood the nuances of Indiana business law and provided sound legal counsel that ultimately helped us reach a settlement. However, my experience was mixed. While his legal analysis was thorough, I sometimes found the communication from his office to be slower than I would have preferred, with occasional delays in returning calls or emails. The billing process was also somewhat opaque at times. For straightforward commercial matters where you need a seasoned litigator's insight, he is a solid choice. Just be prepared to manage your expectations regarding responsiveness and administrative follow-through.
