Competent real estate guidance, but communication could improve

I engaged Minturn Wright of Shannon & Wright LLP to assist with a complex commercial property acquisition in the Alexandria area. His background, including his recognition in real estate law by Best Lawyers, was a primary factor in our selection. Mr. Wright's substantive knowledge is evident. He navigated the zoning intricacies and title review with a seasoned hand, and his long tenure since graduating from USC in 1986 provided a solid foundation for the transaction. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. While the final work product was thorough, there were periods of delayed responsiveness that added unnecessary stress to our timeline. Setting expectations around communication and process updates would have been beneficial. For straightforward legal expertise on a real estate matter, he is certainly capable, but be prepared to manage the client-attorney communication flow proactively. The outcome was satisfactory, yet the journey to get there felt less streamlined than anticipated.
