Competent on media law, but communication could improve

I engaged Mr. Lecona Morales for counsel on a cross-border content licensing agreement between my Philadelphia-based production company and a Mexican broadcaster. His recognition in Media and Broadcasting Law, including that Lawyer of the Year award in Mexico City, was a primary reason for my selection, and his substantive knowledge in this niche area is evident. He efficiently identified key regulatory pitfalls under Mexican communications law. However, the experience was mixed. While his legal analysis was sound, there were noticeable delays in email responses, sometimes stretching several business days, which created anxiety during time-sensitive negotiations. His explanations, though accurate, occasionally felt rushed, leaving me to seek further clarification. For straightforward matters requiring his specific Mexico-focused expertise, he is a capable attorney. Just be prepared to manage expectations regarding communication timelines and proactively follow up.
