Competent on complex condo syndication, communication could improve

Paul Nothof, K.C. at Ogilvie LLP provided solid legal guidance for our condominium development syndication. His deep experience in this niche area, as reflected in his recognition for corporate and M&A work, was evident when structuring the joint venture agreement. He anticipated several key issues related to unit allocation and developer responsibilities that others might have missed. However, the process felt somewhat transactional. Response times to emails were occasionally slower than expected, and explanations, while technically accurate, sometimes assumed a level of legal familiarity we didn't possess. For straightforward, high-stakes condo law matters, his seasoned background from the University of Alberta and decades of practice is a definite asset. We achieved our project's legal goals, though the client experience felt more adequate than exceptional.
