Competent on environmental compliance, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Taylor Jones at Perkins Coie to assist my small manufacturing company with a complex environmental compliance review related to a new state regulation. Taylor's background in environmental law was evident; she quickly grasped the technical details of our operations and the regulatory framework. Her analysis of the potential permitting hurdles was thorough, and her recognition in the field gave us initial confidence. However, the experience was mixed. While the final work product was solid, there were significant delays in receiving drafts, and it was often difficult to get a status update without multiple follow-ups. For a firm of this caliber, I expected more proactive communication. Taylor's expertise from USC and her recognition in energy and environmental law are not in question—she clearly knows her field. Yet, for the premium rate, the client service aspect felt merely adequate. The matter was resolved correctly, but the process was more frustrating than anticipated. I would describe her as a highly capable attorney whose practical client management could better match her substantive legal skill.
